The Hunter 458200 DC-latching solenoid converts a compatible Hunter irrigation valve for use with battery-powered controllers. A short DC pulse latches the valve open and another pulse releases it, reducing power use where no mains controller supply is available.
Compatibility
- Fits Hunter plastic irrigation valves
- Suitable for Hunter NODE, NODE-BT, XC Hybrid, SVC and WVC battery controllers
- Not a replacement for a standard 24 V AC solenoid unless the controller requires DC-latching operation
Electrical and installation details
- Hunter part number: 458200
- Operating voltage: 6 to 9 V DC
- Nominal coil resistance: 4.8 ohms
- Red station wire and black common wire; polarity must be observed
- Approximately 45 cm of factory-fitted control wire
- Captive plunger and manual quarter-turn operation
Confirm the controller output type before ordering. A 9 V DC-latching solenoid must not be connected to a conventional 24 V AC valve output.
