Hansen Female Tank Fitting – BSPT

Create a sealed female BSPT outlet through a water tank, trough or similar vessel.

The Hansen Female Tank Fitting is installed through the tank wall to connect valves, pipes or compatible male-threaded fittings to tanks and troughs. It is supplied with one LDPE washer and one rubber sealing washer.

Choosing the right size

Select the BSPT size required for the male-threaded fitting or valve that will connect to the tank. Do not select by pipe outside diameter. All variants have a female BSPT connection.

Installation guidance

1. Drill the required hole in the tank wall.
2. Remove the back nut and first, firmer washer, then insert the fitting through the hole.
3. From the other side of the tank, refit the washer and screw on the back nut.
4. Tighten the back nut until both washers make full contact with the tank wall and form a watertight seal.
5. Use a suitable thread sealing paste or tape on the external threaded connection where required.

Technical information

• Maximum working pressure: 16 bar at 20°C for the listed 20 mm to 50 mm fitting sizes.
• Suitable for cold-water systems up to 60°C.
• Not suitable for swimming-pool or spa water with high chlorine concentrations.
