Hunter NODE-BT-100 one-station battery controller

The NODE-BT-100 is a waterproof, stand-alone controller for one irrigation valve where mains power or a control cable is impractical. This model is supplied with a compatible Hunter DC-latching solenoid and is programmed from the Hunter NODE-BT smartphone app.

Programming and installation

• One valve station.
• Three programmes with up to eight start times per programme.
• Run times from 1 second to 12 hours.
• Bluetooth smartphone control, typically up to approximately 15 m subject to site conditions.
• Powered by one or two 9 V alkaline batteries, sold separately.
• IP68 enclosure for valve-box installation.
• Compatible with supported rain, freeze, wind and soil-moisture sensors; no flow-monitoring input.

Compatibility: Use a Hunter DC-latching solenoid. A standard 24 V AC solenoid is not suitable. This is a stand-alone Bluetooth controller, not a Hydrawise or central-control product.

Solenoid wiring: Connect the solenoid’s black lead to the controller’s black common lead and its red lead to the red station lead. Use waterproof connectors at every joint. Hunter specifies a maximum 30 m solenoid cable with a minimum 1 mm² (18 AWG) conductor, using the Hunter 458200 DC-latching solenoid operating at 9–11 V. A 24 V AC solenoid will not operate. For a wired weather sensor, use the yellow loop as shown in the gallery and enable the rain sensor in the app.
