Rain Bird two-core decoder cable

Rain Bird decoder cable carries power and communication signals between compatible Rain Bird decoder controllers, interfaces and field devices.

Cable specification

• Two solid bare-copper conductors.
• Polyethylene insulation jacket.
• 2.5 mm² conductor cross-section.
• Available as 25 m, 50 m, 100 m and 150 m cut coils, or a full 500 m drum.
• For compatible Rain Bird decoder and SiteControl systems.

Rain Bird's ESP-LXD design guidance gives a maximum critical-path distance of 3.0 km for 2.5 mm² metric cable. This is the distance to the furthest decoder along the path, not an unrestricted total cable allowance; topology, splices, loads and site conditions still need to follow the system design.

Selection note: This is blue system cable. Confirm the cable colour convention and exact decoder platform before extending an existing installation. Use approved waterproof joints and follow Rain Bird guidance for routing, separation, grounding and surge protection.

Choose your cable length

Each cut coil is one continuous length of Rain Bird MW0501 decoder cable, measured and wound by UK Flow Centre. Choose 25 m, 50 m, 100 m or 150 m for a cut coil, or 500 m for the full drum. Cut-coil pricing includes cutting and winding.
