The supplied F47125 unit is the Rain Bird LXIVM-SD surge device for ESP-LXIVM and ESP-LXIVM Pro two-wire systems. It helps protect the controller interface and field path from electrical surges when correctly positioned and earthed.
Installation requirements
- Install one IVM-SD every 152 m of two-wire path or every 15 field devices, whichever interval is shorter
- Install an IVM-SD at the end of each two-wire path in a star configuration
- Splice the device into the two-wire path where it can be connected to the specified earth system
- Follow Rain Bird instructions and all applicable electrical and earthing requirements
Selection note: F47125 is the LXIVM-SD for ESP-LXIVM systems. The protected product title also mentions IC systems; confirm the required Rain Bird IC surge device separately before ordering for an IC installation.
