Rain Bird LXIVM-SD surge device

Rain Bird F47125 is the LXIVM-SD surge-protection device for ESP-LXIVM and ESP-LXIVM Pro two-wire systems. When correctly positioned and grounded, it helps protect the controller and two-wire path from electrical surges.

Required placement

• Install an IVM-SD immediately next to the controller on each two-wire path.
• Install an IVM-SD at the termination of each two-wire path.
• Provide another device every 150 m of cable or every 15 field devices, whichever interval is shorter.
• Connect the red and black conductors to the two-wire path and the green conductors to the specified grounding rod or plate.
• Use Rain Bird WC20 splice kits for field-cable joints.

Selection note: F47125 is the LXIVM-SD for ESP-LXIVM systems. It is not the Rain Bird ICSD used on an IC System field path. Earthing and surge-protection layout must be designed and installed to Rain Bird requirements and applicable electrical rules.
